Zen Story: True Nature

An old man meditating by the riverside opened his eyes to see a scorpion flailing helplessly in the water. The water washed the scorpion nearer to a tree growing on the river bank. Supporting his body on one of the long roots stretching into the water, the old man extended his hand out to reach the creature. His fingers barely touched the scorpion when it stung him. The old man instinctively withdrew his hand. A moment later, he got back his balance and again lay down on the roots to rescue the…See More

Mind Body and Soul

Seeking you Mind, Body, and Soul; not to possess you, but to experience you Mind, Body, and Soul... I in tune, giving... sharing me with you... Mind, Body, and Soul... Meeting Simultaneously... Mind, Body, and Soul; Love... Passion, at its core... Hearts beating deeply as one, Spirits surrendering... Zen Story: Harmony by :buddhagroove : Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 10:57pm

This is the story of a young martial arts student who was under the tutelage of a famous master. One day, the master was watching a practice session in the courtyard. He realized that the presence of the other students was interfering with the young man’s attempts to perfect his technique. The master could sense the young man’s frustration. He went up to the young man and tapped him on his shoulder. “What’s the problem?” he inquired. “I don’t know”, said the youth, with a strained expression.…See More

The Spirit of a child

Last evening some friends and I celebrated one of my sister friend’s birthday. During the celebration one of our Haitian friends came in with a beautiful little girl whom she had adopted from Haiti. She had been trying to adopt her since her birth. She is now two years old and soon to be three. She endured the recent earthquake in which expedited her finally being able to join her new family. She was born to a teenage mother who knew from conception that she would not be able to raise the child…See More

Hello to everyone!
I am so happy to have found "SoulSpeak" , My soul has been speaking for as long as I can remember. However, not understood , I often feel that I am the only one like me. Constantly , seeking truth and speaking my truth , what i have found that not many people can handle truth. When I have attempted to discuss, spirit and being connected and to cosmic energy people shy away and I am labeled weird. I guess I am if weird is not being afraid to open my self up and to share my gifts with others. I consider myself a spiritual being as oppose to religious. The every day religion never feed my soul and I found myself left with many unanswered questions and many times I couldn't find a place for me. So, I began learning about other spiritual teachings from around the world. I did find some connections with eastern teachings like in Buddhist . I began to read books by Paramahansa Yogananda and Deepak Chopra. I learned to meditate . My spiritual life became a very private one because none of the folks in my life could embrace me in my thinking.Just as I could not embrace the religious teachings that they practice. I found it hard to follow these man made creations that was pawned off as God or the Great Spirit. My soul could not and would not accept it.
As a small child I knew that God spoke to us all and not to only the clergy. I did not understand why someone else had to take me to God and I had to go to a particular place to commune with God. I always knew that God was where ever I was. We didn't have to seek God because was always where it was suppose to be. I began to notice how confused these who taught this religion were. Please , I do not wish to offend or to ridicule any one else's belief system, this is just my soul responding. I am happy to be able to have a place to express my inner me. I thank you for allowing me to be a part of this wonderful place. I hope to make many friends here and to learn many new views and opinions.
