In the last few months, I have been called upon to tend to an interesting issue that has come up for many people; something that has remarkable similarities amongst all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds.   Prior to the onset of 2012, many began experiencing what I have come to know as a “Spiritual Emergency”.  This term is based on the teachings of Stanislov Grof who sought to define the difference between pathological, medical conditions of the mind/body and the onset of a “Spiritual Emergence”.  In defining “Spiritual Emergency”, Stanislov Grof is quoted as follows:

 “Spiritual Emergencies are defined as critical and experientially difficult stages of a profound psychological transformation that involves one's entire being. They take the form of non-ordinary states of consciousness and involve intense emotions, visions and other sensory changes, and unusual thoughts, as well as various physical manifestations. These episodes will often revolve around spiritual themes.”

            What I have been witnessing in those experiencing a Spiritual Emergency is varied types of paranormal phenomena.  Paranormal meaning something outside of scientific explanation.  Of course, Guidance Energy is thrilled with this and has been speaking about these types of phenomena for quite some time, but it is always disconcerting for those of us that experience it, even for someone like me who has been experiencing it for close to 18 years now! 

            So I decided to focus the photos on SoulSpeak this month on a paranormal phenomena that is appearing strongly to believers and non-believers alike – the presence of Orbs in photographs.   Orbs describes a circular type of mass that occurs in flash photography with digital cameras.  Orbs may be explained away as moisture, rain or even dust balls and scientists have lengthy explanations on light and how it moves.   However, due to the nature and frequency of the appearance of Orbs, it is one of the most highly investigated paranormal phenomena.  Many of the people who have experienced this phenomenon also have had vision and sensory changes -  things associated with a Spiritual Emergency. So, it is Science?  Or Spirits captured in photos?  That is up to the individual experiencing it and the beliefs within the individual.   If you have some Orb photos or other experiences you would like to share…bring it on!
