You're FIRED!
Inspired by Lisa Baffi's "Experiment" blog post, I asked myself (in my journal) what sort of experiment I might be willing to do in 2010? In the second half of 2009, I was looking at two business/financial "challenges" that seemed to ignite some pretty negative emotions in me. So what about MY 2010 experiment?
Not surprisingly a download came immediately. I got the image of Donald Trump. Hello? I can't stand the guy. But like a dream it began to make sense. I called my negative "colleagues" into to the boardroom: Anxiety,Struggle, Resentment, Frustration, Discouragement, Despair and Trying-too-hard, all personified into different (and rather funny) characters. I look them all in the face. "I have nothing against you. This is not personal (a typical Trump-ism!). In fact, as you know we've been rather close lately! But I have to tell you this, You have NOT gotten the job done. And you know me: I like results! So you're going to have to hear me out now." They all wince. "YOU'RE FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Boy, did that ever feel good.

Patricia thanks for the chuckle and Lisa for the motivation to set up my own experiment. Patricia’s process brought such delight when I read it I thought I would take her lead another step. And meditated on… you’re HIRED!
I summoned; JOY, HUMOR, CREATIVITY, and HOPE into the ballroom. Our reunion brought on dance, laughter and a celebration that was one of blissful delight. In a ceremonial honoring of each others strengths I expressed my true admiration and reverent appreciation for the beautiful warmth I felt when I embraced their support. I then bestowed on them all the positions of ‘Ambassadors to my Inner Strength’. (You’re HIRED!) I vowed that when my inner strength is low that I will tap into and engage with all that they stand for and let their source energy inspire me to be the very best ME...

What an incredible down to earth approach! I sense strongly the power of the words "You're FIRED" as it banished the negative energies in one fell swoop! Thank you for offering simplicity to the complexity of handling negativity. The use of the patriarchal term by a Goddess rendering her demons mute is powerful to say the least!
